Kunio Yanagita had been pursuing after Japanese Identity while his grand son Yoshiaki Yanagita born after 73years from him, has been pursuing after Japanese Identity Crisis. What's in between, is the modern civilization starting from Renaissance. The common point between two is the syncretism of theism and philosophy which is the philosophy od the Renaissance Era, as it were the fusion of thinking and believing.

Japanese Folklore which Kunio Yanagita had presented has been tied down within the category of studies, and now far away from the Yanagitas' initial idea of researching on the fundamental base of Japans' existence.
